Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College in its endeavor to ensure holistic development of its students and make them excel in all dogmas of life has been organizing various events and activities with a blend of achieving individual talents and innovation among the students. In respect to this a National Contest for Innovative Product and Prototyping named TECHNOVATION 2018 has been organized by the institute. The principal sponsor for this event was Stratasys India, a leading multinational company in additive manufacturing.

The contest provided a platform for promoting Innovation and Creativity among young engineering students through encouraging and inviting fresh ideas from them related to the given themes namely Lifestyle & Smart Appliances, Transportation, Agriculture, Energy, Defense and Manufacturing. The theme- based exposition was aimed to harness the potential ideas, concepts and technologies in any form available with the students.

Best 20 ideas were selected and given opportunity to develop working prototypes at AKGEC Fab Lab to showcase actual implementation of idea into reality. These teams were invited to present their prototypes with brief presentation to the nominated jury. Best selected ideas were given awards worth Rs 3,50,000/- during the award ceremony on 30th August, 2018. In addition, the winning teams also got an opportunity to undergo three days training on 3D printing at Stratasys Experience Centre at Bangalore.

India Skills Competition is India’s first National Skills Competition, an initiative of NationalSkill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE). Mobile Robotics is one of the important skill for which India is sincerely trying to showcase good performance during the International competition.

The aim of this competition is to select the candidates for World Skills Competition to be held in Kazan in 2019.India Skill Competition is schedule in October, 2018 at Expo Center, Greater Noida. In this competition, winners of various regional competitions will participate and the National Winner Team will represent our country at Kazan.

AKGEC Skills Foundation, on behalf of National Instruments, Sponsor of World Skills Competition for Mobile Robotics Skill and NSDC through Instrumentation, Automation, Surveillance & Communication Sector Skill Council (IASC-SSC), conducted a four days specialized training at NI LabVIEW Academy, during 05th-8th September, 2018, for Nine Regional Winner TEAMs from Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, UP and Uttrakhand, comprises of 18 candidates.

During this training, participants were given insight about international rules and norms for Competition. They were also introduced to Virtual Instrumentation field; develop user interface through Labview programming and its integration with various hardware. The detailed training on Hardware and Software integration, mainly interfacing of NI myRIO controller with various sensors and drivers, as myRIO being the basic component for building a robot in India Skills competition. This training will be useful for participants for quick project development, to be demonstrated during Competition at National & International Level

WRO-2018, World Robot Olympiad INDIA, India’s largest robotics competition organised by India STEM Foundation at The Arena, Trans Stadia, Kankaria, Ahmedabad, Gujarat on 15-16th September, 2018.

World Robot Olympiad, started in 2004, has developed to a truly global competition. WRO tournaments are organised in more than 60 countries and each season new country join this movement.
